This overlook near the locally famous fire tower allows visitors to see the bridges and the Louisville skyline when the sky is clear. I drove up there a few years ago to see the Thunder Over Louisville fireworks show, thinking I would have the place to myself. There were hundreds up there,! no cops,! and I was the only one that was sober !!
The shelter house has two fireplaces and has been a favorite picnic spot for generations. First come, first served. You’ll need to get here early on weekends and holidays, not so much on weekdays.
